6. R.A. Driesbach, Sr., Lodge #77216 Ave. C
The lodge was moved to its present location from Quincy Florida in 1929. The first Knights of Pythias Lodge in Port St. Joe was Indian Pass Lodge #77, organized in 1912. In 1969, the name of the lodge was changed in honor of Sir Knight Raymond A. Driesbach, Sr., the first Grand Chancellor of the State of Florida from Port St Joe. There have been three Florida Grand Chancellors from Port St Joe: R. A. Driesbach (1954-1968), Alton Fennell, Sr. (1981-1996), and Clarence Monette (2002-present) Pythianism is based on Freindship, Charity and Benevolence. The aim of the Knights is to spread through its teachings the doctrine of universal brotherhood and the fatherhood God. A Pythian Knight is taught to protect the weak, defend the right, alleviate the suffering of a brother, watch with the sick, bury the dead, care for and educate the orphan.
