Built in 1916 by James Franklin Rish, Sr. His father Henry Alexander Rish came to Iola in the 1880s, where he raised bees and owned and operated a hotel in the once thriving fishing and hunting resort. James Ernest Rish recalls his grandfather sitting on the porch and selling honey to people stopped at the red light on the corner.
